Restaurant TS Kota Kemuning

Wednesday 29/7/09.

This is a simple cafe in Kota Kemuning specialising in local food. I tried the spicy fried rice and chicken curry nasi lemak. The curry chicken nasi lemak comes with the standard, boiled egg, peanuts, cucumber, ikan bilis, sambal, cracker and a bowl of chicken gravy. It is not spicy at all! and the sambal taste flat. The nasi goreng is not spicy as well but it taste better than the nasi lemak.

This is a good place to bring foreign friends to introduce Malaysian food, before they get the kick ass stuff from other places. However, this place comes with a good variety of desserts like ice kacang and ice jelly. Prices are reasonable ($ 5.00 for each ala carte dish) and the food is not oily.

Weird sign!

Kopitiam Diamond

I saw this weird sign in a restaurant in Mengelembu, Ipoh (Kopitiam Diamond). This is in a famous curry mee restaurant in Mengelembu which only sells curry mee and nothing else. "No animal enter" ??? not sure that, there is no animals parts in the curry or trying to tell the animals they can't buy curry me!

No comments on the food as I did not try the curry me that day. I will return and try it the next time.

Italiannies Sunway Pyramid

Greetings. Last nite, I decided to have some Italian food at Sunway Pyramid. This outlet is based in the new wing, ground floor facing Bali Bali outdoor pub. The food variety is good and the environment is quite classy and relaxing. The food comes in large portions and it taste fabulous. This is not some wanna be Italian restaurant, you could taste the quality.

I ordered the salmon fettuccine and its awesome. It come with chunks of salmon, tomatoes and onions. The source is not starchy and it blends well with the pasta. This dish is meant for two and its is priced around $36 (RM). I will have to visit this outlet once more to try other dishes.

Nasi Kandar Ipoh aka Ganja!

Nasi Ganja Ipoh,

Greetings. My first review will be on Ipoh's famous nasi kandar, also known as nasi ganja. I made a day trip to Ipoh last weekend to get my quaterly dose of nasi ganja. It's located close toJ alan Sultan Iskandar Shah Polis Station (Hugh Low Street) in a corner lot of a Chinese restaurant.

To be precise, its at Jalan Yang Kalsom. Opposite of the Tg. Rambutan bus terminal.

There are many nasi kandar outlets in Ipoh, but I think this is the best. The pricing is quite resaonable and it could range from $4.00 to $7.00, depending on the amount of side dishes. On an average $5.00 meal, you could get a piece of chicken, fish and an egg. It taste fantastic, especially with the three special gravy combination, and it comes with coconut chutney, cucumber and curry ladies finggers. This is one kick ass nasi kandar, and you should try it during your next visit to Ipoh.
